Meet The Eye Doctor At Specs Appeal
Our eye doctor takes the time to explain the results of your eye exam, describe your options and listen to your eye care needs. Because maintaining good eye health is an ongoing partnership, we encourage you to ask questions and share your health information, which could be vital to monitoring, diagnosing, and treating potential vision problems.

Dr. Jennifer Friehe strives to provide her patients with the highest level of comprehensive eye care for the entire family. She graduated with honors from UW-Whitewater with a degree in Clinical Science and Mathematics. She went on to receive her doctorate in Optometry with honors from Illinois College of Optometry where she also completed clinical internships at the VA Medical Center in White River Junction, VT, Wilmer Eye Institute of Johns Hopkins University Hospital, and Dunham U.S. Army Health Clinic in Carlisle, PA.
Since graduation, Dr. Friehe has practiced primary care optometry independently as well as in an ophthalmology practice. She also serves in the military as an optometrist for the Wisconsin Air National Guard. Dr. Friehe particularly enjoys fitting contact lenses and travels around the country speaking for a contact lens company, educating other doctors on lens technology.
Dr. Friehe loves getting to know her patients and looks forward to seeing them year after year. “What I love most about optometry is talking to my patients and getting to know everyone in the family. I especially love watching kids grow up throughout the years. It’s cool when I fit a patient in his first pair of glasses, and now he’s in medical school!”
When not asking ‘which is better 1 or 2?’, Dr. Friehe enjoys movies, traveling and spending time with her husband, daughter and basset hound, Mabel.
